Latinos Fleeing the Republican Party
This article gives the principal reason I support John McCain. He represents the Republican Party’s last best hope for keeping latinos from becoming solidly Democratic; refer back to my very first post at the end of January.

If Ms. Clinton proves McCain’s nemesis in the general election, I fear that the GOP’s hope of Latino support might dissipate. She’s successfully wooed Latino favor (or, at least, built a distinct, public impression of doing so). Does this concern prove valid? What is the data saying?
If these fears carry some weight, would a less formidable opponent like Ms. Clinton prove a greater and more harmful risk to the GOP in the long run?
That was true of Ms. Clinton on Super Tuesday, but not necessarily anymore. I believe Obama actually recieved more latino votes than Clinton did in the Maryland/VA/DC primaries. She is the captain on a sinking campaign, except she didn’t hit no iceberg…(-;
To some degree I doubt that it matters whom the Democrats nominate. It appears to be more of a “don’t vote for offensive Republicans” rather than a positive statement of support for any particular Democrat.
